Franklin, Tenn. – Please join Physicians Urgent Care today, April 27, 2020, in celebrating their 10 year Anniversary. The Williamson County medical clinic, which is locally-owned and operated by six Emergency Physicians, provides urgent care, primary care, ketamine infusion therapy, sports medicine and telemedicine services.

History

On April 27, 2010, six local Emergency Physicians formed a partnership and created Physicians Urgent Care, a clinic that could handle many of the injuries and illnesses normally seen in a hospital emergency room. At Physicians Urgent Care, patients avoid the very high cost of an ER visit as well as the several hours that are typically spent when care is sought in an ER.  Additionally, patients and their families enjoy a clean, warm and inviting environment. Nabil Boutros MD, one of the six Emergency Physician partners, explains, “When someone was unable to be seen by their PCP or a specialist for a mild or moderate injury or illness, especially during the weekend or after-hours, there were very few medical care options in Middle Tennessee. Despite being very sub optimal, the ER was one of the only options for these individuals. Most often, the injury or illness does not require ER care. Unfortunately, the ER cost is 5-8 times higher, the wait times are often several hours, and the overall patient experience isn’t that great. With this in mind, Physicians Urgent Care was developed with a focus on delivering the highest quality care, maximizing efficiency and convenience, providing affordable services and an immediate response to pressing medical issues — open seven days a week, before and after the work day, with on-site labs and X-Ray.

Since opening, Physicians Urgent Care has expanded to three locations across Williamson county and offers a variety of services in addition to urgent care. Most recently, Primary Care and Telemedicine services have been added. Additional services include sports medicine and ketamine infusion therapy.

Services

With full time physician oversight, on-site digital X-Ray, on-site lab testing and procedure rooms, Physicians Urgent Care can treat many conditions typical walk-in clinics or physician offices cannot.  Along with general primary care and urgent care services, they can treat broken bones, provide stitches, do EKGs and offer ultrasound-guided joint injections. The clinic currently employs Medical Doctors, Emergency Physicians, Primary Care Physicians, Internists, Doctors of Osteopathy, Sports Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants. All protocols, clinical care, medical decisions and procedures are directed by Emergency Physicians and Primary Care Physicians. Advanced Practice Providers have direct access to and interact with these physicians all day, every day.
